It’s officially the first day of Spring! While some of us over on the East Coast await yet another Nor’Easter, we also thought it would be a great time to do some Spring Cleaning and offer some tips on how to freshen up your website and social media profiles. 



Websites are a major “touch” point when it comes to your target market. Website help to drive conversions while continuing to build your brand identity.  A recent study shows that 40% of people will abandon a web page if it takes more than three seconds to load… they are too busy to wait for a loading website! As if that wasn’t bad enough…you only have several seconds to grab your customers attention once the site loads.

Make sure that you continue to update your site with recent events, products, promotions, awards and news. To stay engaged with your audience, you have to continue to be engaged with your website. Your website is the best way for your clients/customers to gain insight into what your brand does and who your brand is.

One of the biggest assets in your business is your website so it’s super important to make sure that it’s up to date and working properly. Take a couple hours to air out and clean up your website. I’ve made you a handy checklist. Go in, see what’s working. Fix the things you can. Make a list of the stuff you can’t. Then let’s talk.

Check Your Branding

We all have days where we just aren’t feeling it and sometimes the little details, like fonts, can slip through the cracks. It’s a good idea to go through your website and look to make sure you are on brand.

Look at your images to see if they still accurately represent your brand identity. If not change them. Look for minor errors like fonts, spacing, and even colors. It may not seem like a big deal but your customers will notice even the smallest details when they don’t match the look and feel of your brand.


Update Your Social Media

Next to your website, your social media profiles are the most viewed by your audience. They are the easiest way to connect with your audience one on one. Even if you have just woken up, hair a mess, coffee in hand… social media doesn’t care! You can literally connect with anyone! So use this time to a little updating to make sure they are completely accurate and branded.

Update Your Bio and Profile Photo

 Because business is always evolving, you want your audience and clients to be able to quickly and easily see what you do and how they can work with me. If you’ve added a new service or product make sure you are talking about it. If you’re no longer offering a product or service delete it. Be sure you have a nice header graphic. Is your website link up to date? Make sure it’s a properly working link. Refresh your current information. One of the most important thing you can to refresh your social media profiles is to get recommendations from clients and customers. Word of mouth is still the best marketing you can get.

The best profile pictures are light, bright, and fun. So go ahead and make sure your profile picture is the best it can be. If not it’s a good opportunity to get a new headshot or have a friend snap a new one for you. We have an in-house photographer who just loves working with clients on updating their headshots. Just remember it should accurately represent the overall feeling you want your audience or clients to have. If you’re business is fun… have fun! If you represent a more professional, serious type of business, have your photograph reflect that.
